Fief is using electronic music as an iterative process to carve out and present imagined imagery as sound. Influenced by Daft Punk and dubplate equally, an increasing lean towards microhouse and composition with hardware have created a sound that is stripped back technically, compensating this with an abstract personality to each track. Structurally his music is relaxed and often draws on live-recorded modulation and intuition to capture his material. Delay, reverb, jazz and ethereal tones are the flavors added to classic drum sounds as melody and impulse take preference over professionalism. Exploration of profound emotions are pinned to the house-style fundamentals, creating memorable music as a vehicle for rhythmic poetry.
